PADI Tec – Tec 50
The Tec 50 course completes your training as an entry-level tec diver, taking you past the limits of recreational diving and immersing you in the world of technical diving. Building on the Tec 40 and 45 course foundations, the Tec 50 Course consists of three Practical Applications, and four Training Dives.
What will you do?
During the PADI Tec 50 course you’ll learn to make actual decompression dives as deep as 50 metres using enriched air nitrox and/or oxygen for decompression. You will also learn how to use desk top decompression software to create custom dive tables and plan your dives. After successful completion of the DSAT Tec 50 course you will qualify to make technical decompression dives independently

1 confined water session, 3 supervised boat dives, PADI certification card (on successful completion of course).

Includes theory, 4 dives (1 confined water + 3 boat dives), air fills and PADI certification upon successful completion.
Please Note: Additional costs to student diver – Gas (other than air), twin tank hire (if you don’t own your own) and stage tank & reg hire (if you don’t own your own).
You will already have the PADI Tec Deep Diver manual from your Tec 45 course, which includes all the required reading materials for theory for PADI 50.
Equipment requirements
Equipment as required for PADI Tec 45 with the addition:
Two stage/decompression cylinders with mounting hardware (Must be oxygen clean)
Two regulators and SPGs for stage/decompression cylinders (Must be oxygen clean)
Spool with approx. 60m of line

A $150.00 deposit is required to secure your spot.
2 Evenings or 1 Full Day of theory.
1 Evening – Exam and dive/deco planning
3 days of diving – 1 confined water dive plus 3 boat dives (2 of which are planned staged-deco dives). Final dives are conducted with teams of no more than 3.
Course timing is flexible dependent on weather (to access required dive sites) and participant availability.
- Hold a PADI Tec 45 certification (or hold a qualifying certification from another organization).
- Be a PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).
- Be at least 18 years old Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which 20 must be enriched air dives, 20 dives must be deeper than 18 metres and at least 15 dives must be deeper than 30 metres.
- Have a medical form signed by your physician.
