Introduction

Are you interested in what lies deeper, there is something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites. It may be a wall dive in Port Phillip bay that descends down and you want to see more, or the desire to dive all of our J-class submarines, the deep diver course teaches you how to safely execute a dive to 40m within the recreational limits.

Description

The aim of the Deep Diver Course is to familiarise divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of diving between 18 metres to 40 metres. The course is intended to serve as a safe, supervised introduction to deeper diving within the limits of recreational SCUBA diving. Training will develop your theoretical knowledge of deep diving and enable you to plan, organise and make no-decompression dives.

Schedule

Tuesday evening – 6pm-8:30pm – theory review, dive planning & equipment preparation

Saturday – 2 boat dives

Sunday – 2 boat dives

Prerequisites

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent rating with another training agency)

Minimum age requirement 15 years

Proof of diving experience within the past 12 months

Previous experience diving in temperate water

Own transportation for the course duration, and capability to transport all your own equipment required for the course; Boat departs from Portsea 1.5hrs drive from Melbourne CBD. We do not provide lifts for students.

All participants must complete a Medical Questionnaire. If any of the questions are flagged as “Yes” you must obtain medical clearance from a doctor prior to participating. Please ensure you complete this Medical Questionnaire before the start of your course, no medical, no diving.

Includes: PADI Deep Diver eLearning, all tuition, four boat dives, use of tank & weights and PADI Digital Certification card upon successful completion.

Complete SCUBA unit including alternate air source, SPG, computer & compass

Mask, snorkel, boots, fins, gloves

Wetsuit or drysuit

Dive knife

Torch

SMB & Spool OR Safety sausage.

Slate and pencil

Logbook

This is non-refundable fee as this pays for your access to the Deep Diver course e-learning pass.

You will receive your PADI Deep Diver eLearning code once you have provided us with your details and paid the course deposit. The eLearning is to be completed independently at home prior to course commencement.

The balance of the course is to be paid on the first session of the course.
