12m – 28m
Portsea Hole is about 500m West of the Portsea Pier. The top of the hole is 12m and to the North there is a vertical wall approximately 75m long which drops to sand at 27m, then into a sand bowl which bottoms at 33m. The wall comprises of small overhangs which are home to a vast array of invertebrate life and fish, in particular the beautiful Blue Devil fish. As you descend down, many bommies, small overhangs and crevasses open up new hiding places and homes of the many fish species.
