Snorkeling / Skin Diving

Maybe you would like to find out more about the underwater world and are not quite ready to take the plunge with a Scuba diving course or maybe you simply prefer to be on top of the water looking down at the amazing variety of marine life.  Join us to learn how to snorkel effectively so that you can maximise your time in the water.  Or try some skin diving so you can start to get down amongst the marine life without worrying about scuba equipment.


 

 

Discover Snorkeling

The PADI Discover Snorkeling program gives you the opportunity to explore the underwater world with guidance and assistance from an experienced member of our staff.  We run regular boat trips to snorkel with the seals over the summer months and we can usually offer snorkeling at some of our shore diving sites.Contact us for more information.

Pre-requisites:

None - anyone over the age of 8 can join in the fun

Cost:

Varies depending on shore or boat trips.

Course Content:

Overview of points of interest, aquatic life, local conditions and hazards.

Snorkeling skills:

• Mask defogging

• Mask and fin adjustment

• Donning equipment

• Swimming with fins

• Snorkel/supplied air breathing

• Entering and exiting the water

• Maintaining yourself in the water comfortably and with ease

Skin Diving

The PADI Skin Diving program gives you the opportunity to explore the underwater world with guidance and assistance from an experienced member of our staff and is a good starting point if you are trying to make up your mind about giving scuba diving a try. It gives you the opportunity to explore our beautiful marine life without using a scuba diving regulator to breathe under the water. Contact us for more information.

Course Content:

The knowledge development portion of the PADI Skin Diver course covers information on equipment, diving science, the environment, problem management and safe practices of skin diving in the local area.

The water training portion of the PADI Skin Diver course covers the techniques of donning equipment, entering the water, checking buoyancy, surface swimming, snorkel clearing and performing surface dives.
