The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization,procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving on wrecks. The course is intended as a safe, supervised introduction to diving on wrecks. The course will cover research & location of wrecks, search & recovery techniques, salvage rights, wreck surveys and the techniques involved in safely diving and penetrating a variety of wrecks.

Pre-requisites:

PADI Advanced Open Water certification

Minimum age 15 years

Cost: $575.00

Includes the PADI Wreck Diving Manual and all tuition, four boat dives and use of tank & weights.

Requirements:

  • Complete SCUBA unit includingalternate air source, SPG, computer & compass
  • Mask, snorkel, boots and fins
  • SMB & spool OR safety sausage
  • Torch
  • Wetsuit / drysuit, hood, gloves etc.
  • Slate and pencil
  • Logbook
  • Knife or cutting tool,
  • 1 passport style photograph,
  • Suggested but not mandatory: explorer reel.

Course Content:

Four boat dives, two evenings of theory and review.

Please note: Many of the available wreck dives are in deeper water so it is an advantage to hold a deep diver certification before starting the course.
